It is with delight, I introduce Dana Pharant, our instructor of a wonderful new massage technique ~ Thai Hot Stem Massage. After having experienced one of these multi-technique massages I can pretty much guarantee this will be the most asked for indulgence on your massage menu. It's absolute bliss!
This massage is new to North America, and Dana Pharant, RMT is the only certified instructor for this technique in Canada.
What is Thai Hot Stem Massage?
What it is NOT: It is NOT Thai Yoga (traditional Thai massage) and it is NOT massage using only herbal compresses. It is not a technique from Thailand either! Nor is it "just fluffy relaxation".
What it IS: This multi-faceted full body treatment technique (developed in North America) incorporates acupressure, shiatsu, lomi lomi, yoga thai stretches and the use of herbal stems from Thailand. Through the multi-faceted technique and comprehensive pattern, every fibre of the client's bodyis gently and completely coaxed to relax, leaving them in a wonderful state of melted bliss. It's not only beneficial as a relaxation massage, but provides the same release and relief as a Deep Tissue massage - without the discomfort!
The incorporation of the heated herbal stems not only completes client relaxation through direct application of moist warmth, but the stems are compiled of organically grown herbs: a four-hundred year old medical Thai recipe combining herbs known for their detoxification, anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. For the earth conscious client, it's good to know these herbs are grown and the stems compiled in a fair wage environment. Clients may take the stems home after treatment to allow the aromatic properties of the herbal recipe to "extend the bliss".
How do I benefit?
Not only will this be the most requested indulgence on your treatment menu, but the billing point for this technique is suggested to be superior to many other techniques. Many therapists are billing $30 to $50 above their posted price for Hot Stone treatments. Also, when the technique is administered properly, it is ergonomically easier (than traditional massage) on the clinician's body enabling him/her to accommodate more appointments throughout the day. Hence, higher billing and increased billing opportunity. Additionally, because the technique is easier on the clinician, theircareer life may be extended. It is well known in the massage therapy industry, that physical burnout has long been an issue. Here is a wonderful solution for all parties.
BONUS:Once you have taken the workshop with us, any future purchases of the stems will be at a fabulous "Workshop Graduate" discount.
