Children’s Grief Awareness Day
Event Details:
On
Thursday November 20, 2014, is National Children’s Grief Awareness Day. Rainbows For All Children Canada has partnered
with Children’s Grief Awareness Day to recognize the children who are
struggling from loss.
Kimberly
Thomson, National Director Rainbows For All Children Canada Rainbows and Mr.
Paul Jackson, guest speaker, from Big Brother Canada Season 2, will be speaking
on Resiliency and Grief.
Grief
is not a topic that is widely and openly shared with children. But children face an abundance of events that
would be a platform for grief.
Children’s
Grief Awareness Day is a day focused on bringing to mind the children all
around us who have experienced the loss of a loved one – children who typically
feel very alone in the journey of grief they travel.
Children's
Grief Awareness Day is designed to help us all become more aware of the needs
of grieving children — and of the benefits they obtain through the support of
others. Children's Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to make sure that
grieving children receive the support they need.
This
day is an opportunity to let grieving children know that they’re not forgotten
in the midst of their grief. Join us by wearing blue on Thursday
November 20, 2014 as we come together to show our support of children.
