Is it safe to throw out your computer disks?
Recently I was asked this question. The most important thing first is to ensure that you remove any personal information - whether yours or a client's. Most discs, though made up of plastic have a thin metal layer or coating that contains our computer data.
If they are a floppy that has a plastic hard shell you can break them open and cut the plastic disc apart. For cd and dvd's you can snap them or take a sharp blade and score into them. Please be careful when doing this as it is easy for the sharp... more

For those that use Gmail you may not be aware of the three tabs at the top of the Gmail screen. Primary (which most people stay in), Social, and Promotions. Most people only view their Primary tab. You might be surprised to see that there is a lot of emails you haven't seen yet in the Social and Promotions tab. Click on each of the tabs and scroll down through them. You will find that these are not viewed in the Primary screen so they need to be deleted within the 2 host tabs.... more
