Barrie’s ‘First Lady’: From the beginning, Kris was the driving force behind bringing 12 Ladies in a Tent to Barrie. “I love helping people,” she explains. “I heard the stories of despair and saw what the event had done in other communities. 12 Ladies gave me the opportunity to make a positive impact on an entire community of people who may one day need assistance from the Food Bank. For me, it was a no-brainer.”

In 2012, Kris won the Barrie Examiner’s Heart and Soul Award in recognition of her work with 12 Ladies. Kris sits on the Board of Directors for the Barrie Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Chamber’s Marketing Committee.
