My needs in a mattress are unusual, to be frank. I'm heavy in the hips so they slump in the middle within 7 -11 months, and because of a back problem, they are, then, unusable. Every single mattress, no matter what brand, no matter what type. Every single time. For years, I had to buy a new mattress every winter. Then I found Mike the Mattress Guy, and Krista and I designed for me, my very own customized solution to this problem. I'm on year five now, and my customized solution is working great. No other mattress retailer worked with me on a solution. If they had, the price would have been jacked up because of the customization. Krista could have done that to me, but she didn't. I recommend Mike the Mattress Guy to anyone. This is my second review, and I'm doing it because they really do deserve it. I hope they take more than their fair share of Barrie's mattress business in the coming years.

Oct 24, 2014 I have been looking for a bunk bed for awhile. Came across Mike the Mattress Guy and gave them a call. Initially I spoke with Abby, very pleasant, answered my questions and told her I would most likely call back later in the afternoon and place and order. Thus I did. Justin answered the phone I went through my spiel blah, blah, blah. I order my bunk bed and mattresses. These two young folk were excellent. If they didn't know the answer they said so and inquired. What really floored me was when I inquired about storage drawers for under the bunk bed. Justin said they have but he would check to see if it would fit under the bed I purchased. He called me back, unfortunately it wouldn't fit. I was disappointed. BUT, before I even got to sigh and click my tongue Justin said they will shop around for me. Now that's customer service. Good on you!!! Thank you!! Oh, and by the way, their pricing is truly unbeatable.
My son had a spring come through his mattress and was scratched so we needed a new one fast. I called, and the new mattress was delivered before he got back from school that day. Thankyou! Excellent and very polite service. We will be shopping at your store again. :)

We purchased a gel foam mattress approximately 6 months ago and we are very happy with It. We were sceptical about the cooling properties of the gel foam as we had heard that normal memory foam retains heat.
The gel foam mattress is cooler to sleep on than our past traditional mattress and it is very comfortable to sleep on.

We purchased our first mattress set a year and a half ago with help from Krista and we have absolutely loved it! Incredibly comfortable and well made and the price is unbeatable for such great quality! We loved it so much that when it came time to furnish our spare room. We went back and purchased a second mattress set (again with Krista's help). We have purchased three mattresses from Mike the Mattress Guy since March 2013 - a king, a queen and a twin size. We are so impressed with the prices, the service provided, and especially with Mike and Krista's kind and caring attitudes. Amazing !!!! My Husband and 2 kids were stranded by a moving company while moving into our Wasaga Beach Cottage. Being a mom I needed to make sure I had beds for my kids to sleep on so I found Mike on Kijiji and for an absolutely amazing price we saved the money from the moving truck and put it into all new beds which was a way better spend. We just needed our clothes and bedding , Mike did all the work. I called Mike at lunch time and he had our beds delivered by 5:30 pm that day, totally saved our Butts / Backs !!!! I will defiantly be using Mike again and I highly recommend his services!
Due to a back problem, even the inevitable loss of support in the mid section of a mattress would cause pain and stiffness. This happened repeatedly at about the one year mark with each mattress I bought. I was one mattress number four and looking for a solution. After much research, and visits to the major mattress companies in town, it became clear that the only likely answers to my problem were out of my price range. I would have to buy another disposable, one year mattress. If I could flip it over, maybe it'd last two years, but Sleep Country and Sears informed me these aren't made anymore. Then I found Mike's on a Kijiji ad for a flippable mattress. Clearly someone was making them! I went in and met Krista. I told her my problem. She listened, asked questions, talked to a supplier and long story short, we ended up solving the problem in a totally unconventional way. See, Mike and Krista have the mattress made to suit you, not the other way around, like those other guys. To pull this custom (ought to be patented) idea off, they had to secure the services of a seamstress and jump through a few hoops, and still stay within my budget. Anyone looking for a mattress should try Mike the Mattress Guy, but especially if you have an unusual request. I am recommending Mike and Krista to everyone who is buying a mattress, joins into the conversation of mattresses, or makes eye contact. Thank you, Mike and Krista!
I went to the store was looked after by Krista who took the time to listen to what I wanted. I ordered a custom headboard and had it delivered April 9/2014 and am extremely happy with the material, craftsmanship and the professionalism of all involved in making this happen. We took a drive to Barrie to see what selection of mattress and a bed we were odering. Got everything we were looking for even a dining table! The prices are unbeatable, customer sevices impeccable. We were shopping around for a bunk bed set for our 2 young boys. The prices we were quoted from other businesses in the GTA and surrounding area were out of our budget. Thank you very much for your help with our project. The bed looks great, getting ready to set it up soon. The delivery went well, but of course it was raining fairly hard for the boat ride. Your husband and son were really good sports about it all, and we are really grateful that they were willing to come all the way to the island with the mattress. Not many places are that helpful! In fact I can't think of any.
You have provided great service and when we need a bed in the future I will be calling you, and recommending to others as well. I think it is wonderful also that you are so supportive of your local food pantry. There was a charge for delivery, anywhere else we called, even local vendors. I am happy to give something to the food pantry, and next time I will be more ready for that too.
Mike and Krista you guys are awesome!! There were a few bumps with the bed but Mike and Krista were right on top of it!! They provided fantastic customer service! No-one can match their prices or their service! Krysta gave me a quote right away, and the custom size foam mattress was ready in under 48 hours! Very happy, we'll definitely be back again. Almost 2 weeks ago I was told that a family friend had a captain's bed for my son it turned into a nightmare when we got it home. My husband and I have waited 19 years to purchase a new matress but could never afford one. we found Mike on line, could not believe the price and 15 year warrenty, made a call and that same day it was delivered for free. All Mike requests is a donation to the food bank. wow..helping others, how awesome is that? Mike even took our old box spring and matress away for next to nothing. We were very impressed.
