TREASURED MEMORIES...
Do you remember making things for your Mom on Mother’s Day at school? Were you the one who spent HOURS picking the right colour, choosing the perfect picture, colouring SO neatly?

I remember making a recipe book for Mom when I was about 9 or 10. Often an impatient child, and a perfectionist to boot, projects like this weren’t really for me! This one, though, was different. I remember cutting out the pieces and putting the pages together – taking my time and really doing a good job on it. I was so proud of that book! I wrapped it in home-made paper and proudly carried it behind my back to deliver to Mom.

Mom carefully peeled back the wrapper to discover this recipe book...and you would have thought I had invented the written word! The praise; the love!

Years later, while helping Mom downsize, I came across this recipe book carefully tucked away in an envelope. I felt her praise – and more, her love  – all over again.
