SPARK YOUR VITALITY... KEEPING YOU IN THE KNOW!

Yesterday we celebrated two years in business and we are so grateful for our loyal clients, entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations who entrust us with creating customized training and coaching programs for their staff to help them grow personally and professionally which ultimately helps their organizations grow. 

This has been one of the most incredible summers… hasn’t it?  We saw a record number of days with temperatures over 30 degrees and plenty of blue sky and sunshine!  Now as the summer draws to a close, we welcome the cooler temperatures, fall colours and embrace whatever comes after that.  What we also find is that this is the time of year when everyone wants to reset, get back to business and define or re-define their goals.  We work with many entrepreneurs on setting clear, specific goals and creating an individual realistic plan to make sure it happens. 

So just out of curiosity, how are you doing with your goals so far this year?  What helps you stay on track?  What gets in your way?  We hear many say, “I have the best intentions, but find I don’t have enough time or enough money to do everything I’d like to do.”  In reality, there are always going to be obstacles, it’s being able to overcome them or figure out what you can do, rather than focusing on what you can’t do that is key to being successful and to be able to keep moving forward.  We love to use the analogy of running a race.  If all you think about how much energy and perseverance you will need, that it might rain, that you may not feel great that day… oh my goodness, you will absolutely feel overwhelmed!  
What if you were to take it one day at a time?  Think about what you can do to prepare for the race, break it down into bite-sized pieces and simple steps.  What do you need to do to prepare?  Well first of all, it’s best to train for at least 4-6 weeks.  Start running a few times a week.  Eat well, stay hydrated each day and get lots of rest.  Set a small goal each time you run, for example, I will run an extra 5 minutes or for an extra kilometre each time I go out.  Notice how you feel, right after?  The next day?  Keep track of your progress and pay attention to what works and what doesn’t work.  How do you feel?  Are you muscles sore?  How can you manage that?  What helps?  Drinking more water before a run perhaps?  Increasing protein intake?  What will happen?  You will see progress and you will get results.  The key is to create a short-term plan and stick to it, alter it as needed and make sure it’s attainable for your lifestyle and your ability.  We apply a very similar process with goal-setting.  If you are willing to do the work, put in the time and effort required, you will see results. 

There’s no magic wand, BUT if you want results and are willing to do the work, we create accountability and help you see the big picture.
