Sweet Charity Medical Assistance Dogs, a Canadian Registered Charity (#82238 5035 RR0001) in Barrie, Ontario exists to train dogs to help people who need them. It’s that simple! Our Diabetes Alert Dogs program trains dogs and matches them with children with diabetes. The dogs are diligently trained to recognize low blood sugar and wake the child or get help. Families of children with diabetes bear 50% of the $10,000 cost of training a dog. The remaining cost is borne by Sweet Charity. That’s why your participation matters so much.
